What are the benfits of flow wrapping?

Flow wrapping has many benefits, a few are:

Versatility

Flow wrap packaging can be used on a wide range of food and non-food products. For example, medical devices, baked goods, confectionery, trayed products and many others in a wide range of shapes and sizes. All our re-manufactured and upgraded machines can be adjusted to use a range of compostable, biodegradeable and paper based wrapping material.

Strength

Flow wrapping produces a pack with mechanically strong seals which are produced by a combination of pressure and heat. Special cold-seal materials are available which can be used in heat sensitive applications such as chocolate or frozen products or when very high speed packing is required.

Efficiency

Flow wrappers are extremely efficient and can operate at high packing rates. Even a basic flow wrapper will produce consistent high quality packed products, often as fast as humans can physically handle them. A flow wrapper which is fully integrated into an automatic production line can pack at several hundred products per minute with almost no human interaction.

Airtight

In practice many flow wrapper generate a leak free pack but special high integrity sealing flow wrappers generate a guranteed hermetic seal. Removal of oxygen and flushing with an inert gas then protects the product from moisture and air born contamination and extends the shelf life and freshness.

Brand Promotion

The film used in flow wrapping can be transparent or printed. Many food and other manufacturers choose to design printed films that includes brand name, promotional artwork, regulatory information, bar codes etc.
